Just a few little things. Firstly a Pinwheel beanie for little Sahara. It is to go with the Oriental Lily dress that I knitted for her.

I knitted Tao an Eden and had my first try at duplicate stitch. Although it is not perfect I really like it :). I love autumn leaves and the image of bare trees at the moment.

My eldest daughter was invited to a 6th birthday party last weekend so in my usually last min style I made a little skirt as a present (I didn't even have a chance to iron it as you can see)

I have lots to catch up on - I have been rather busy, but I am going to start with my current favourite crafty obsession which is.........................Dying wool. It has been years since I dyed wool and my latest efforts have produced some rather BRIGHT wool. Next time I will tone it down, but I am rather happy with my fun results.

A mother at school asked me if I would make some clothes for her kids - and since it is my favourite thing to do I said YES! I unfortunately forgot to take pics of a couple of things but I did take pics of the following.
First she asked if I could turn an elephant dress she had into a more boy style top -So I did that and made a pair of shorts to go along with it

She also gave me a skirt to cut up so I turned it into a small skirt for her daughter

With a cute princess and the pea appliqué .

I am in the process of making 2 pairs of pants and a cute little dress which is so much fun!

Baby Shower

My lovely friend who I share a name with is due to have her third baby tomorrow. A few weeks ago she had a baby shower and since she is having a girl after 2 boys I decided to make the bub some cute girly things.

I made her 2 pairs of shoes, appliquéd a singlet and 3 t-shirts, a bundle of wipes, a little skirt and last but not least I knitted an "Oriental Lily" by Tikki Using "purple punk' from Wooly Butts.

I have a new sewing machine and I love it so much! It is a janome DC2101 and as yet it does not have a name ;)
A friend had a baby the other day (a big baby) so I made a little set for him. Oh how I love sewing.

And since it was so much fun sewing on my new machine I decided to make something for Tao

Blanket

Tonight I thought that I should really do some housework but since I am putting my sewing machine in to be serviced tomorrow (and I will miss it), I decided to make Tao a blanket. I just made it up as I went along and it is not perfect, but it is nice and soft. The front is cotton, squares if denim and a big square of minky and it is backed with some Green Batik flannelette.

My sewing machine has been having issues (badly needs to be serviced) but I actually managed to get it to zig-zag yesterday so I did a quick appliqué on one of Tao's tops. I really like apple prints and anything to do with apples on fabric so I went with that.

I made a SSC (soft structured carrier) to carry my lovely boy around. I used THIS tute. I think I may have made a few mistakes, but on the whole I am fairly happy with it.

Tired

Still here... still plodding along, but so tired. I think I have now settled into life with three kids and the lack of sleep had caught up with me. So tired.
BUT I have still been doing some sewing and some knitting.
My best friend is pregnant and last week found out she is having a girl so I started knitting her a rainbow dress (NB size). My friend, who already has 2 boys is NOT into pink so I chose some wool that only has a little pink, I hope she likes it!!

I am planing to make her a basket of lovely things, I want to make the bub a tag blanket, a little patchwork type mat/blanket, the rainbow dress and I would also like to have a go at making tikki's Oriental lilly. I thought I would give it to her when she is about 39 weeks pregnant and totally over it, just something nice for her to play with. oh so many plans!!

I had bee noticing that my lovely boy likes to chew and suck on this blankets, and sheets and whatever else he can get his hands on so I made him a little tag blanket that he can chew suck and fiddle with too his hearts content.

I also knitted a Spare Ribs Shoaker. It is so fantastic over a night nappy and was so nice to knit! I used wool from Wooltopia at The yarn Collective. The colourway is called "lemon tree"

I have a plan....... I asked my sister what she wanted for Christmas (so I can get organised) and she said she would like a simple skirt with big pockets that have cute things appliqued onto them. Well at least she knows what she wants!!! I have been thinking that I might try and make a small version for B before I go big... (well she is not big, not at all, but adult size lol.) Watch this space to see if it happens.........

So as usual it has been a very long time since I posted but I shall not give up!!

In the time since I last posted I gave birth to my beautiful boy Tao ( or potato as we have lovingly nicknamed him). He was born in may, during a flood, 4 days before his sisters birthday. He is lovely and gorgeous and loved to bits and pieces by his older sisters (sometimes a little too enthusiastically)!

So since Tao was born I have started knitting!!! I have made him a couple of Milo vests - here is the one I am making at the moment.

I have also made him a few pairs of polar fleece pants

AND I knitted him a pair of longies!!! (Ladybug Loops)
I have really discovered a love for knitting. So many fun patterns out there. I am going to have a go at knitting some things for my girls next. Wish me luck!

So, It has been almost a year... very slack of me, but I am back and hopefully I will be much more crafty in the next few months and have more to post!!!
I am now 25 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby who I found out is a boy!!!! Very exciting and also nerve wracking as I don't think I have ever even changed a boys nappy.... It will be a learning experience.
I have finally started to make a few things for the bub and have lots of things in mind! Firstly I made a couple of little nappies - maybe they are a little girly, but I all ready had the fabric.

I also made a couple of little wraps with cute little frogs on them.

I have much more to do...... But at least I have started!! I am also taking part in a swap on craftester called the "Shape, colour, texture swap". We have to craft 3 items one for each category. My partners shape is Round, colour is Yellow and texture is Hard. Once I have finished her items off and posted them I will put up some pics of what I have or am in the process of making!

These are the pads I ended up making and sending for the swap I just did on craftster. I have just signed up for another swap the "crafty detective swap 4". YAY I am so excited!!!!

I made this dress for Bella using this tute.
I really like it on her. I made it for her to wear to the wiggles (very exciting).

And last but not least, I started uni a couple of weeks ago and the night before the first day I decided that in needed a new bag. I used this tute but made it quite a bit larger so i can fit lots of things inside.

Craft swap and Fabric scraps

Its been a month and I am posting again! YAY! I don't really know if anyone actually reads this much but I guess I have quite a bit of fun when I can come and look back on things I have posted.
I am doing a swap on Crafster called the "menstrual care package" swap and I am soooooo excited. So far I have crocheted this hot water bottle cover using THIS pattern and made some pads. I have been making pads for myself for a few months now and can never seem to make them exactly right. They work and are comfortable but for some reason I always screw up the stitching so they don't look great. I find is very frustrating and i gets me down!!!!!

I Realized the other day that I have way to much scrap fabric so I decided to make some things with it. First I made some pants for Bronte (they are a bit big but hopefully they will be perfect by winter) pics of back and front.

Then I made this throw type of thing to cuddle up on the lounge. Looks better ironed but kids were using it for a cubby house when i stole it back to take a picture.

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything. A very very long time. so slack of me. Anyway I thought I would show the Christmas presents that I made for my girls. Firstly I mad a quilt for Annabelle. I appliquéd a fairy on a square and then just kept adding strips of fabric. Lots of fun.

And a picture of it on her bed. I think that the mattress is not straight on the bed which is why it looks all wonky.

For Bronte I made a Waldorf doll. I really did not realize how much wok went into making one of these, and am very impressed with people who make many of them. It is so rewarding seeing Bronte love her so much.

According to Annabelle you can't be a princess if you don't have a skirt. I tried to show her pictures of princes in pants, but apparently that doesn't matter. So i made some skirts. Bad photo but nice twirl... lol

I wanted to make a dress for Annabelle out of an old t shirt so I went hunting in my local op shops. I had in my head that i was going to find one with skulls or something equally outrageous for a 4 year old but had no luck. I think it had something to do with the op shops being run by churches. Just a guess.... Any way I came across a Che Guevara and decided it would be a good dress. So i chopped it up, added a ruffle, sleeves and neck. Annabelle loves it.

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything. over 4 months in fact. Shame on me!!!!
Recently I have been making Annabelle some clothes for summer. Yes I know its still winter but got to be organised ; ). The first one is a kind of dress/top for Bella to wear over her swimmers.

Annabelle loves to dance in the skirt. I will post some action shots later (batteries just died on camera!)

The only problem with making summer clothes in winter is convincing your child not to wear them yet as they will freeze. We have been getting into the dresses over long pants look as a compromise. I have made a few other things but I will have to wait till my camera is up and running, so.... Watch this space!!

Skirt and Doll

I have been really slack over the last week and a bit. I have had a bad back amongst other things, well that is my excuse, but i am sure i could have been crocheting as i was lying down alto (still am :(. I did manage to finish the doll - and as i wasn't 100% happy with it i also made a little skirt for the birthday girl to go along with the doll. This pic of the skirt is not great, but the bottom is a brown velvety stretchy material (I'm sure there is a name for it) an the top is the same material only pink with silver stars on it. I love circle skirts.

I have been feeling kind of stressed about the doll i am making and thinking that i should just get on with it......... So instead i did something else. I saw some pictures on nappycino of some woolveralls and decided to try to make some myself. I didn't have a big jumper so i had to use bits of a cardigan - pity about the red eye but i can't be bothered to fix it. lol

So i started this blog as a record of my foray in to being creative and making things (what ever takes my fancy). Since I decided not to study this year, I feel like i need to be achieving more so hopefully as well as becoming more creative I can for fill something within myself as well ;-). After searching for a bag for myself and being rather disappointed I decided to try my hand at making myself exactly what i want.

At first i wasn't quite happy with the outcome (a few places with sloppy sewing) but after using it a few times - well it does the job and i LOVE the material.

So I made another one to keep my crochet in.

I am making a pair of longies for my daughter Bronte.
I bought and dyed some wool balled it up And started crocheting it :-)

And Last But Not least the Doll. Earlier this week it was one of close friends daughters 3rd birthday so after racking my brain to think of what to get her i decided to try to make her a doll. I haven't finished yet but this is her so far. She is rather strange looking at the moment but i am hoping it will all come together.
